Do you know Lorelle? She has an excellent blog filled to the brim with WordPress-explanations, tutorials. You name it and she has tried it. It has everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask-things in it. She says it like this:
Helping you learn more about blogging and WordPress every day with help, tips, advice, and techniques for blogging and using WordPress, and WordPress.com. The blogging help you need. Now.
This morning I was checking out her blog to look for a tutorial on block quotes. I have figured that one out only a little bit because my eyes were drawn to the newest Blog Challenge. This is a weekly exercise “to help kick your blogging ass”. This week it is called What Keywords Make You Number One in Google? So what do you need to do? Lorelle says:
I want you to dig deeper and find the key words or phrase that pops you up at the top of the list, without using your name or blog name, and blog about it and/or give us the link to the Google search results to test them for ourselves. Google search results will shift and change over time, so don’t expect you will be on top all the time, but we are testing for top search results for this moment in your blog’s SEO life. Yes, I am on, I want to know where I am number ONE. I cannot use radiant woman, too bad. What else? I get hits on my explanation of Pluto square Pluto, an astrological figuration now appearing in people born around 1970. And on the drawings of Pluto. Pluto square Pluto gets me on number 3. Not good enough. Drawings pluto square pluto? YES YES YES this get me number one. How is that for a start on a rainy Saturday morning. But now how do I show this to you. I cannot get the url of the search in a link.
Do I have another one? Wait for the signs. YES YES YES here is another one.
Ok one more. How about another search engine term that draws people to my blog. I would guess ‘origin of as above so below‘. Let’s try. YES YES YES.
This is fun, it is nice to be kicked in the but once in a while.
