Coming home from work, I find this weeks challenge on Illustration Friday: Polar. A theme close to my heart in this world of duality. I forget often that every day life is part of a larger cycle. Magnetic and electric forces are at work. Even planet earth is moving in cycles and therefor the oceans move different in both hemispheres. The circular movement of mother Earth is something I can see when I close my eyes. The smallness of myself in this big universe is immense.
This charcoal drawing is a movement, or eternal movement if you will. From light on the ceiling in the room that I suddenly noticed out of the corner of my eye. It reminds me of the wind or of the daily rotation of mother Earth. Swirling, leaving traces of love and light and energy. Movement comforts me and memories come back of me in the womb of my mother. It gives safety. Peace. Home. In the big moving world. Reflected on the ceiling.
