I wish you could have been here this morning. At exactly eight o’clock two little voices asked me to open my eyes, it was present time. Two sweet gifts were beautifully packed in their hands. Eyes full of expectation, hands eager to unpack everything themselves. Family love.
A necklace made with straws (you know, those to drink apple juice and stuff like that) and a paper hanger, painted gold with two little doors. Inside a picture of my son. Attached was a lovely poem. About his love for pancakes, sweets and all the rest, but Mum was sweetest and the best…
Next up was another sweet face with hints on what was inside her package. Slowly the secret unfolded: she made me a square mirror with decorations on the side. To be used for putting the contacts into my eyes in the morning! And many more drawings with lots of pink and hearts and Mum I love you’ s. Followed by the treat of breakfast in bed, handmade by her. Sweetheart made breakfast for two kids that were happily chatting away and eating at the same time next to me.
At 9.30 we got out of the boat and left on foot to the Central Station. I suggested to go for a day of walking and everyone took the bait. The station was reached in about one hour. And this was only the beginning of my patience to be stretched.
In the 500 meter or so to the train:
– we changed the shoes of the girl three times
– a man caught a big fish and took his time to make it tired and then take it off the hook gently.
– we looked at a wood-stove as we have, only different tiles.
– in the station we saw two radiant men carrying the Bible and a pen in all colors of the rainbow.
The regular stroll to the station allowed me to grow in patience. O mother’s day what are you teaching me?
