Rambunctious 2

Rambunctious 2, originally uploaded by radiant woman

Aren’t we all children that love to play in the rough sea and do the body surf?

These two pieces include paint only. I thought back about how I played in the rough sea and made my first ever body surf in Copacabana (NSW, Australia). If you never did a body surf, go and do one as soon as you can. It is your chance to feel your own enthusiasm rise, to laugh hard and let go of all resistance. Love the feeling of the blue sea touching your skin and propel you forward in the water.

I fiddled to make the diversity of the waves come out and then decided to make a print cause the layers of the paint were rather thick. So meet rambunctious and its opposite meek and tell me which one is rambunctious? Oh and thanks IF, I learned two new words today 🙂

Rest seems like a nice contrast to overwhelmed, but enthusiasm is always chosen over rest. The only thing that ever makes you tired or bogs you down is resistance.

IF Opinion

IF Opinion, originally uploaded by radiant woman.

We all carry opinions and ahum (me too), we sometimes overdo it. Sharing an opinion on something can easily be seen as a big mouth saying bla bla bla.

When I think about it a little longer I reconsider the stating of an opinion. The person who hears what we say interprets the message and can make it into bla bla or as something lovely. Or something horrid, something regular, something abnormal whatever.

I would love it if I can listen to others and hear what they say as a contribution. However hard that might be for me. If people state an opinion could it be that they are concerned or passionate about something? That they are touched by it and want to say something about it? Even so called negative opinions can they come from the heart? It all depends how we interpret an opinion. What do you think?

IF: repair

broken heart, originally uploaded by radiant woman.

This weeks theme for IF is repair.

During the last months I found being alive a painful experience. I kept telling myself that it will get better over time.

Now when I think about repair and what it means to me I notice how good I have been lately. That I have left behind the pain of a relationship that ended.

I am a bit proud to say: My heart is back into old mode, with a nice scar that will heal over time.

Glad to be back on IF, it has been some months!

IF Poem

IF Poem

IF Poem, originally uploaded by radiant woman.

Poem is this weeks challenge for Illustration Friday. I am not a girl of poems, I know some lines, not much to impress anyone. Lyrics of songs seem to replace poems in the lives of many. At the funeral of my friend Lot, one of the songs performed was ‘Heaven Can Wait” by Meat Loaf. I cried when the lyrics touched my heart.

The piece above and the thumbnail maybe even more, reminds me of heaven and of how precious life is. I made it in 2003, one of 4 pieces in blue and white. They reminded me of heaven, the place that I longed to go back to at the time. It comforted me to have a little piece of heaven on earth and it helped. I stayed, heaven can wait indeed.

Meat Loaf – Heaven Can Wait Lyrics

Heaven can wait,
And a band of Angels wrapped up in my heart,
Will take me through the lonely night,
Through the cold of the day.
And I know, I know,
Heaven can wait,
And all the gods come down here just to sing for me,
And the melody’s gonna make me fly,
Without pain, without fear.

Give me all of your dreams,
And let me go alone on your way.
Give me all of your prayers to sing,
And I’ll turn the night into the skylight of day.
I got a taste of paradise,
I’m never gonna let it slip away.
I got a taste of paradise,
It’s all I really need to make me stay
Just like a child again.

Heaven can wait.
And all I’ve got is time until the end of time.
I won’t look back.
I won’t look back.
Let the altars shine.

And I know that I’ve been released,
But I don’t know to where,
And nobody’s gonna tell me now,
And I don’t really care. No, no, no.
I got a taste of paradise.
That’s all I really need to make me stay.
I got a taste of paradise.
If I had it any sooner you know
You know I never would have run away from my home.

Heaven can wait.
And all I’ve got is time until the end of time.
I won’t look back.
I won’t look back.
Let the altars shine.
